Angela Vanderstraeten (1988) is a visual artist from East-Flanders, Belgium, raised in the small village of Machelen-aan-de-Leie among the echoes of the Flemish art world.

She began her career in 2015 as a stylist and art director, before shifting her focus fully to visual art in 2023. Her work often draws from found imagery, memory, and language — with a particular fascination for frontier idioms, cowboy slang, and archaic Flemish spellings. The result is a practice that functions as both poetic storytelling and an autodidactic form of therapy.

Vanderstraeten is currently preparing her first book, dedicated to her ongoing love for the Wild West.
